Jeremiah's Birthday Explosion Box

Finally finished my nephew's first birthday album. He turned one in September 2009. Used explosion box file from svgcuts.com and cut the pieces with the Pazzles inspiration.

The paper bow was also made from one of their files.

The album holds more than 30 pictures and numerous journaling spots.

Birthday Card

My Nephew loves mickey so I made this card for his 2nd birthday.

I used Cricut Mickey and Friends for the Mickey Mouse Die Cuts.  The inside of the card was made using the Silhouette.  I resized the birthday cake popup card download  to fit the card which was 5x7 inches.  He loved it.

Alexcis Name Album

My stepdaughter Alexcis loves the peace sign and purple. So as I was strolling through Hobby Lobby during their 50% off paper pad sale. I saw Peace, Love & Happiness from The Paper Studio, I knew exactly what I was making with it.

Electronic Cutter - Pazzles Inspiration

I searched dafont for the perfect font and came up with Peace. Each letter has a peace sign incorporated into it.

The Pazzles Inspiration Studio was used to weld the shadow of each letter to a rectangle. I embossed each letter with various sizzix embossing plates and cuttlebug folders.
Then each letter was backed with Doodlebug black glitter paper (which completely took out my mat with the glitter). A tip is to use a lint roller to roll over the mat and remove most of the glitter afterwards.

The Cinch was used to punch the album and their new coil binding in raspberry was used as the binding.

I left the album unfinished and will send her the supplies, as well as cutouts from different cricut cartridges to finish the album. I will include pictures of her summer visit with us. The finished album is 15" wide by 7" high.  I used my 12x24 cricut mat in the Pazzles Inspiration and the 12x24 cricut paper to finish the last 2 pages (due to them being wider than 12").  I then pieced the pattern paper together on top.

 I am happy with the album, I had to quickly put it away after working with the bright colors (can you say headache) but I know that she in all her soon to be 12 year oldness will love it.

Notecard Gift Set

Well, in an attempt to make most of my christmas gifts this year.  I totally scraplifted or cardlifted from two talented bloggers, the idea for this notecard set.

I got the card idea from Christina of scraptime.  Link to her video blog here:Scraptime.  She used the Quickutz Fashion Doll Die set and Basic Grey Pyrus paper for her set of cards.  I did not have either of these, so I used the Cricut cartridge Forever Young and a 5x5 pad of Basic Grey's Scarlett Letter.
It is very overcast today, so my pictures are kind of dark.

 I used the Gypsy to size the dolls but I think most of them are around 7.5 inches tall, then I cut off their heads and feet.

I did not use all the layers of the cuts.  This set is for my sister.














I wanted a bag to place the cards in, so I did a google search and found lots of nice options.  The pattern for this one came from talented Andrea Walford.  She adapted the pattern from Diana Gibbs you can link to Andrea's site here :Andrea Walford.

I did not have any Basic Grey Scarlett Letter in 12x12, so I searched my stash and found this paper by K& Co.

Following Andrea's step by step tutorial, the bag/box was very easy to make and it is so cute.  I stamped some envelopes and will add some stamps and a gift card. So one christmas gift done.

My First Post

Ok, finally taking a step toward setting up my blog.  I will start with a quick intro.  My name is Abby and I am totally in love with scrapbooking, papercrafting and electronic cutters.  I hope to feature some of my projects here and be a source of information and inspiration.  I plan to feature creations using various cutters.  I own, use and love Cricut expression, Cricut Imagine, Silhouette SD, and Pazzles Inspiration.  Each cutter is unique in its own way.

So I will start by showing a project or two.  I decorated a composition notebook for a teen friend of mine.

Her favorite color is purple so that dictated my paper selection.  I used a border punch for the side scallop and the paperpiecing is from Cricut Rock Princess she can be found on page 35 in the handbook.  The monogram is the heart font from the same cartridge embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  I embellished with a little stickles. 

As part of her gift I decorated a canvas messenger bag, bought from Hobby Lobby on clearance for $5. 

I made the applique with my mom's brother embroidery machine. It is a design from ggdesigns http://www.ggdesignsembroidery.com/  They have the cutest designs for machine embroidery.  I used lilac wool felt for the peace sign and adhered it with fabric glue to the bag.  The bag was then embellished with hotfix rhinestones.
