Silhouette Advent Calendar

Silhouette America came out with this fabulous calendar for advent this year. I just had to make this for my nephew. You can choose either boxes or drawers, cut them with the silhouette and decorate. I did a mixture of both after seeing some calendars done this way. I used Hobby lobby's paper studio xmas paper for most of the days and decorated them with stickers from paper studio, K & Co, doodlebug and ek success. The nativity die was cut from Inspired heart cricut cartridge. The numbers were a mixture of stickers and die cuts. Hobby lobby has some fabulous glitter paper in their christmas line that does not shed glitter and it cuts well on electronic cutters and manual dies.

The boxes are big enough to fit a variety of toys, candy and treats.  I hope Jeremiah enjoys his christmas countdown. I bought two more cause when Jalin saw it he wanted a "teen" one! That won't get done til next year.

Jeremiah's 3rd Birthday Card

This is a 5x7 inch side step card made for my nephew's third birthday.  I used SvgCut's Edito Island for the card file.  Cutting the file on the Pazzles Inspiration Cutter.  This was much simpler than cutting and measuring by hand like I did for the nurse card.  The die cuts were all made on the cricut imagine using Birthday Bash, except the star and circle border which is from the Cricut Birthday Cake cartridge and the dinousaur which is from Create a Critter.  I love using the imagine for projects like this because it is easy to use the patterns and colors from an imagine cartridge (Blast Off) and fill in shapes from the other cartridges.  They all coordinate and can be cut on one or two sheets of white cardstock.  Jeremiah's Bday is today, I hope the card reaches on time.

Birthday Card and Santa Layout

This card was made for my mom.  I can't remember where I got the instructions for the pop up flowers online, but I used the cricut and quickutz dies to make the corners and leaves and used their design studio file for the pop up insert.

This is a 12x12 layout made for my nephew's album. The santa was made with a file from My Scrap Chick, the file is suppose to be for cards but is easy to just enlarge it for a layout. Click here to see the file:  winterfaces

Side step card

My cousin tina graduated from nursing school, so I made her a special card.  This is called a side step card.  I googled and found the instructions.  I made this 5 x 7 and used Cricut's Everyday Paper Doll Cartridge to make the cute nurse.

Cut nurse uniform with Imagine and used patterns from Best friends cartridge to make the unform including her cute shoes.  Imagine makes it easy to coordinate colors, plus it cuts detailed images well.

Playing with Cricut Flower Shoppe Cartridge

At first I was a little confused about what to do to make the flowers but then I went online and looked at some flowers made using this cartridge and just went for it.  I use scrap cardstock and played with different cuts.  I love how dimensional these flowers are  you can mix and match the different layers to make really pretty and unique flowers.  This cartridge is a must have!!

Flowers made from scraps of cardstock blue flower was cut at 2.5 inches, pink at 2.9 inches.

This flower was cut at 2.5 inches

Used silhouette file and cutter to make this card.

Birthday Gift Continued

In addition to the shadow box for Victoria, I had to use this other stinking cute cutting file.

The file can be found here:
My Scrap Chick Zoo Animal

I cut the monkey but altered the face to resemble the monkey on her party decorations.

I used the Pazzles Inspiration to cut the chipboard covers.  The chipboard was covered with bazzill bling cuts on the outside and patterned paper on the inside.  The file includes the inner pages also.  I cut them from plain white cardstock.

The back cover is so cute I had to include the monkey's backside.  I did adjust the length of the tail so it would not stick off the book.

I don't know if they will use the book as an album or a guest book but I hope the put it to good use.Posted by Picasa

Special Birthday Gift

A very special little girl is having her first birthday this week and I got the idea of making a shadow box from this blog.  Amy's SVGs and Other Scrap Stuff

The shadow box is 10 inches x 20 inches and was bought at Michaels.

The files are from My Scrap Chick and I was very sad that I missed their 75% off sale but got them for 50% off an order of $25 or more.

I really wanted to use decorative paper for the background but did not want to piece scrapbook paper. I used Strathmore art paper from Michael's, which comes in 20x26 inch sheets.

Excuse the pictures, it was hard taking pictures through the glass and it is very cloudy today so they are dark.

The background paper has a striped texture that is not showing up in the photos.  Also some of the cardstock is bazzill bling so it has a pretty simmery quality to it.

The birthday girl's theme is monkey and the colors are brown, green and pink.

I used my Pazzles Inspiration to cut out all the files, except the branch on the right and the photo corners.  The branch is from Cricut's Straight From The Nest Cartridge.  The photo corners are a Martha Stewart punch.

Supplies:
Cutting files: Jungle Zoo Safari Too
Photo Corner : Martha Stewart Punch.
Branch: Cricut Straight From The Nest.
Flowers: Prima

I cut everything twice and popped the layers up with pop dots. Some items like the title and monkey have three layers.  This was very fun and I cannot wait to see what the bday girl and her family think of it.
